Course Map: Available on the race websiteThe Hobble Creek Half Marathon begins at Balsam Campground, up the Right Fork of Hobble Creek Canyon.
This is a fast, gradual downhill course with a total elevation drop of 1,253 feet.⚠️ The course is not closed to traffic. Police officers will help keep traffic to a minimum, but runners should remain alert and aware of their surroundings.
DIRECTIONS TO MAPLETON CITY PARK
From I-15:Take Exit 260 toward Springville/Mapleton.
Travel east approximately 1.7 miles to US-89/Main Street.
Turn right onto Main Street.
Stay in the right lane and follow signs toward Mapleton for approximately 2.4 miles.
Turn left at Maple Street.
Continue approximately one mile to Mapleton City Park.

⚠️ All participants MUST ride the bus to the starting line. Private participant vehicles are not allowed up the canyon.

Please check your bib and arrive in time for your assigned bus.⛔ There will be NO buses after the race.If you miss your assigned transportation, you may miss the race. Driving yourself up the canyon to the starting area will not be possible once access is restricted.
DROP BAGS
A drop bag will be included with your packet for race-day personal items such as warm-ups and food.A trailer will be available at the starting line to collect drop bags and will depart approximately 5–10 minutes before the race begins.Bags will be transported to the finish area and organized by bib number.Items left at the starting area will be held temporarily and then donated or discarded after approximately one week.🛑 Do not leave valuables in your drop bag.The Hobble Creek Half Marathon is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
BIB NUMBERS
Wear your race bib on the front of your body during the race.DO NOT remove the tag from the bottom of your bib until after the race. It is used as a backup to help ensure accurate results.Please verify that the information and age division printed on your bib are correct.If a correction is needed, visit the timing/computer table before the race.Participants without a valid race bib will not be permitted in the finish area.
RACE SHIRTS
All finishers receive a quality technical/lifestyle running shirt.Shirts will be distributed during packet pickup in the size selected during registration.Size exchanges may be available after the race near the finish line, depending on remaining inventory.
ROUTE SUMMARY
Start at Balsam Campground.
Remain on the main canyon road until approximately Mile 8.
Transition onto the Hobble Creek Bike Path.
Follow the bike path to 2900 East, then turn south.
The road becomes 1600 North.
Stay on 1600 North for approximately ½ mile.
Turn south onto the paved trail system.
Turn west off the trail at Maple Street.
Finish on the grass at Mapleton City Park.

HEADPHONES POLICY
🎧 Headphones and music players are not permitted for participants competing for overall or age-division awards.This policy will be strictly enforced for runners finishing near the front of the race.Other runners are asked to:Wear an earbud in only one ear
Remain aware of traffic and race officials
Remove earbuds completely during the final ¼ mile of the raceThank you for helping keep the course safe.
RACE DURATION
Course cleanup will begin behind the final runner at approximately 10:00 AM.The finish line will begin closing at approximately 10:30 AM.

There will not be a free kids fun run in 2026 due to management changes and an effort to keep race-day operations simpler.We hope to bring the kids race back in the future.Kids are still welcome to join the fun at the finish line, park, and jump house.

REFUNDS TRANSFERS AND DEFERRALS
Race entry fees are non-refundable.Once registered and paid, participants will not receive a refund if they are unable to participate.Transfers or deferrals, when available, must be completed through the registration/confirmation system and are subject to the current race transfer and deferral deadlines.Unauthorized bib transfers are prohibited.If a participant races using another runner's bib without completing an authorized transfer, both the runner and the original registrant may be banned from the race for two years.
