    RACE COURSE DETAILS

    Start Time: 7:00 AM
    Distance: 13.1 miles
    Certification: USATF Certified & Sanctioned
    Course Map: Available on the race website
    Timing: Chip-timed with a rolling start
    The race begins at Balsam Campground, up the Right Fork of Hobble Creek Canyon. This is a fast, gradual downhill course with a total elevation drop of 1,253 ft.
    ⚠️ The course is not closed to traffic. Police will help manage it, but please stay alert.

    ROUTE SUMMARY

    Start on the main canyon road until mile 8
    Transition to the Hobble Creek Bike Path
    At 2900 East, turn south (road becomes 1600 North)
    After ½ mile, turn south onto the paved trail system
    Turn west off the trail at Maple Street
    Finish on the grass at Mapleton City Park

    DAY BEFORE RACE, August 15th

    Runners Corner (835 S 700 E, Orem – near Costco Fuel)
    ⏰ 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM (outdoors, weather permitting)

    MORNING OF RACE, August 16th

    Mapleton City Park (35 E Maple Street, Mapleton)
    4:30 AM – 5:30 AM    🎟️ Bib number required to board buses
    🪪 ID (or photo of ID) is required for packet pickup.
    Family/friends may pick up your packet.    TRANSPORTATION TO START
    All participants MUST ride the bus. No private vehicles allowed up the canyon.
    Departure Location: Mapleton City Park    BUS TIMES
    4:45 AM → For runners registered on or after 5/25
    5:45 AM → For runners registered on or before 5/24 (Look for a colored sticker on your bib)
    ⛔ No buses will run after the race. Late arrivals may miss the event.    PARKING INFO
